Mostar bridge (Stari most)
Mostar bridge (Stari most in Bosnian) is a famous bridge across the river of Neretva in Mostar. It was built between 1557. and 1566. by Turkish constructor Hajrudin. On July 9th 1993. HVO (Croatian Military Forces) shot the bridge down. In 2004. it was conducted in UNESCO, after it got renewed. It it a true symbol of Mostar and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It is made out of stone called "teneli". The arch is 29 meters long, a 20 meters high. The bridge was originally built just to connect two parts of town, with no intention to make it monumental.
